This 5010 compliance has been adopted in the replacement of 4010 version. This compliance has been adopted in recent times. The 4010 version which is under HIPAA standards has been replaced by this new and developed compliance. This compliance is very important for the physicians, medical practisers and other health specialists. The testing of this version with external trade partners has just begun in some months before. It is really important to test it in early. There are some important testing dates have been given from which you should always be aware of. The first and the foremost is the level 1 compliance. This level 1 compliance has the ability to process this 5010 compliance. Next is the level II compliance. This level II compliance signifies that it will cover all entities and it will use 5010 transaction. All these transactions are electronic exchanges which involves the transfer health care information. The HIPAA named certain types of organisations which has covered entities like health care clearinghouse, health care providers and various health related plans. This HIPAA standard has also adopted certain types of transaction for electronic data interchange for the transmission of the health care data.
This 5010 compliance has cleared some situational rules which help in enhancing the understanding of the claim corrections and also the recoupment of payments. Unlike the current 4010 version, 5010 version is more specific in the type of collecting data and transmitting it. The HIPAA 5010 will increase the diagnostic field size to increase the size of the ICD 10 codes.
